The weekend is finally here. This week was definitely crazy. Lots of practicing for Concert-Aria and lots of homework. The next two weeks are going to be the weeks full of exams. I need Spring Break!

I would just like to say that the country singers understand my pain. These lyrics aptly describe how I feel at the moment...

So tonight the heartache's on me

Let's drink a toast to the fool who couldn't see

Bartender pour the wine, cause the hurtin's all mine

Tonight the heartache's on me

This semester is definitely starting to pick up the pace. This Friday is LVC's Middle School Band Fest. Middle schoolers + band instruments = lots of fun! Then this weekend is going to be SAItastic. Training starts on Monday so there's lots to do this weekend to prepare. Tonight is our closed rush, we should have about four girls joining! I'm definitely excited about that. And.... concerto-aria is coming up pretty quickly, but I think I'm pretty much prepared for that. Oh, and there's classes.....   Here's a quote I stole from Kacie's profile that I really  liked! I especially like the ending. Thanks for letting me "borrow" it Kac.

People are often unreasonable,
illogical, and self-centered;
forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may
accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you
will win some false friends
and some true enemies;
succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
be honest and frank anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people
will often forget tomorrow;
do good anyways.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
give the world the best
you have anyways.

You see, in the final analysis,
all of this is between
you and God.

It was never between
you and them anyway.

I'm going to take a break from my psych paper to write a quick little entry. Today was the first day of classes. I miss student teaching so much! I don't want to sit through class! I had 8am Intro to American Studies class which wasn't so bad despite the lack of sleep I got last night. Kelly and Kate B. were there to keep me awake.  I don't think that class will be too bad. Then I had American Music History which should be interesting and then a two hour Intro to Psychology Lab which defies explanation at the moment.

And I finally found out why my room is sooo cold all the time! My window doesn't close all the way and I never knew it! Hopefully it will be fixed soon because I'm freezing!  And also, my roommates rock, they are the best! They really know what to say to make a girl feel better when going through an emotionally trying time. I love you ladies!

I think it's time to give this whole online journal thing another try. I was pretty bad at it last semester!  So I'll try again, but I'm not making any promise!

Last semester was awesome. Student teaching turned out really great! I loved both of my placements. I still think I want to teach elementary music, but I now I know I love teaching the other grades just as much. I even conducted a piece at the middle school band concert! That was so much fun! I was sad to see the semester end because I made some great new friends, but time to move onto another semester. This semester is going to make me crazy, but I know I'll have a lot of fun with my roommies and friends.

Winter break was a welcome, but I'm glad it's over. Working at the law office was getting really frustrating. Atleast now I know that I really do want to teach music and I definitely don't want an office job, ever! Christmas was great, seeing all my relatives. We had a swinging party at my Uncle's for Christmas Eve and a huge dinner at my house the next day. It was great seeing my nephew Conor Jacob again, he's getting so big! He's 6 already, he's so cute! I also got to see alot of old friends during break. I hung out at the bar with Christine a few nights, went to the movies several times with Frankie and Dee, visited Kacie and her family and visited Dee in UD! It was an awesome break. But now it's back to school for my last semester at college! Wow.... time flies when you're having fun. Check ya later!
